Fans are eagerly waiting for Deepika and Prabhas starrer movie KalKi 2898 AD. The film will be released at big screens on June 27.
However, advanced booking of the film has started. According to some reports the Si-fi movie has already minted over Rs. 8 crore, advanced booking.
The Nag Ashwin-directed film is expected to break records in terms of sales, with the South markets leading the way so far, given Prabhas’ status as one of the most popular celebrities there, particularly in Telugu-speaking areas.
About KalKi 2898 AD
The post-apocalytic film ‘KalKi’ is inspired by Hindu scriptures and is set in the 2898 AD.
The film stars Kamal Hasan, Disha Patani, Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, among others.
A trailer of the movie was recently released. In this, Ashwathama (Amitabh Bachchan) tells Deepika’s character, “They say the whole universe resides within God. But God himself resides in your womb.”
More interesting characters of the movie were also introduced in the second trailer.

In Telugu (3D, 2D and IMAX 3D)
Around 265035 tickets of the film have been sold for 1726 shows, and it grossed ₹7.7 crore.
In Hindi (in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D)
About 13833 tickets of the film have been sold for 1738 shows, and it grossed ₹43.6 lakh.
In Tamil (in 3D, 2D)
A total of 2925 tickets of the film were sold for 278 shows, and it earned ₹5.12 lakh gross.
In Kannada
The movie sold 101 tickets for 32 shows, grossing ₹23300
In Malayam (In 2D)
It sold one ticket for one show, grossing ₹300.
At the time of writing this report, the numbers across India are–281895 tickets sold for 3775 shows, grossing ₹8.22 crore.
KalKi 2898 AD: What Mr. Amitabh has said on working in the movie
Recently an event was organized in Mumbai by the makers of the movie, where the movie cast including Amitabh Bachchan. Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, Kamal Hasan, and Rana Daggubati, among others, are seen.
During the grand event, Amitabh discussed his thoughts when he read the script and how he feels after working in the movie.
The evergreen Amitabh Bachchan also praised the director of KalKi 2898 AD ‘Nag Ashwin’ for coming up with such an amazing concept.
Amitabh Bachchan said,”Nagi came and explained the idea of Kalki 2898 AD. After he left, I thought, what the hell is Nagi drinking? To think of something like this is absolutely outrageous. Some of the visuals that you have seen just now are unbelievable. To have somebody conceive a project that is so futuristic is amazing. No matter what Nag Ashwin thought of, he actually got all the material and effects to match his vision. It has been an amazing experience working for Kalki 2898AD, which I will never forget.”
