Annu Kapoor starrer ‘Hamare Baarah’ has stars like Manoj Joshi, Rahul Bagga, and Parth Samthan in pivotal roles.
The movie was scheduled to release on June 7, 2024. Later it was postponed to June 14, and now as per the latest news, it is all set to hit the cinemas on June 21, 2024.
On June 19, the Bombay High Court looked into the case and ruled that there is nothing offensive in the film ‘Hamare Baarah’. The court said it is a movie that has just emphasized women’s upliftment.
According to the latest update, the Bombay High Court has also approved ‘Hamare Baarah’ to release in cinemas this very month.
Meanwhile, the movie faced delays because of legal challenges coming from people who claimed that the movie had derogatory content towards the religion Islam, and it attacked the entire Muslim community.
After this, the matter was taken into consideration and a bench of justices reviewed the movie. BP Colabwalla and Firdosh Pooniwalla after considering the matter in question assured that there is nothing so wrong or objectionable in the movie.
According to them, the movie has nothing that disrespects the Quran or hurts the sentiments of the Muslim community. They also highlighted that the people of India are discerning and will not be easily misled.
However, the court has suggested making some changes in the movie, which were mutually accepted by both the petitioners and the filmmakers.
Consent terms were submitted, to finalize the agreement on removing some dialogues and parts from the movie.
Now, the Court, and the filmmakers have decided to remove specific scenes from the trailer. Also, the Bombay High Court recommended the filmmakers add two 12-second disclaimers in the movie.
The irony is, that the filmmakers are still charged with a fine of 5 lakhs as they had released the trailer of ‘Hamare Baarah’ without prior CBFC certification.
