Kangana Ranaut says ‘Work in cinema is comparatively easier than politics’
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has contested on BJP ticket and recently won the Lok Sabha Elections from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi constituency. The candidate won the Mandi Seat by over 74,755 votes against Congress.
What Kangana Said
The actor-turned-politician recently said in an interview that she was approached to enter politics when her first movie ‘Gangster’ was released.
She was approached to join politics because her great-grandfather was an MLA for at least three terms. She said ‘When you belong to a political background and get some success, the local leaders want you to join politics’. It is a common thing.
My father also received an offer. My sister once survived an acid attack and just after that she also got many offers to join politics. So for our family, it is nothing big to get political offers.
On Politics and Movies
She also discussed how she wants to manage her profession in acting along with her duties as a member of the parliament. The actress said, “I am somebody who follows her passion. If you look at me in the cinema, I am an actor, director, writer, and producer”.
As I am starting my political career, I will do my best to engage myself with the people of Mandi. Because there is no denying that ‘Work in cinema is comparatively easier than politics’. Politics takes a lot of effort. It is a life where people in trouble will come to see you whereas when you go to watch a movie, you are very calm.
The Tanu Weds Manu actress also shared how she felt a monotonous life stuck in the loop of movies and that she wanted something more interesting in life. She also said ‘I always wanted to be something more than just a pretty face’.
On Mandi
Kangana said, “If I wasn’t interested in this, I didn’t have to go through so much trouble”. The actress expressed she is not looking at it as a break but trying to take challenges.
She is thankful for getting this opportunity to serve the people of Mandi. And save them from corrupt people. She further said if the people of Mandi have chosen me I will work honestly and not let them down.
