Looks like Jitendra Kumar popularly known as “Jeetu Bhaiyya” not only advices the aspirants onscreen, in the series Kota Factory but also in real-life. He recently visitied to (DTU) Delhi Technological University and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) to share his words of wisdom.
But not many people know that the 33-year old actor Jitendra Kumar, who has an immense love for lauki in Panchayat, had actually found his first love in aerospace engineering.
Jitendra Wanted to Study in IIT Delhi
Hailing from Rajasthan, back in his studing days he would regulary visit Delhi and catch flights and trians from the capital. But before getting admission, Jitendra wished to get into IIT Delhi.
The actor said, “Shuru shuru mein mujhe lagta tha ki IIT Delhi mein admission mil jaye toh achcha hai. Par mujhe aerospace engineering krni thi and that was available only in four IITs- Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Bombay. Uss chakkar me mein Delhi reh gaya”. (At the start I wished it will be better if i get admission in IIT delhi, but i wanted to do aerospace engineering and that was availble only in four colleges that does’nt include IIT Delhi. That’s why I coudn’t be a part of this college)
He further recalls ‘Kumar’ his alum of IIT Kharagpur, saying “Admission hua mera civil engineering mein. Now one can change the branch if it’s offered by the college. But branch change karne ke liye first year mein mehnat karni hoti hai, woh maine kari nahi.” (I got admission in IIT Kharagpur for ‘Civil Engineering’ and I can only switch to aerospace engineering after passing the first year with goo marks. But unfortunately, I was not able to do hard work in the first year.)
How Jitendra Ended Up doing Acting?
Though Jitendra was not able to switch his engineering stream, he started to take part in the Hindi Dramatics society in his college. The actor said, “There we used to enact play adapted from the writings of Rabindranath Tagore, Mahes Dattani, and Vijay Tendulkal. While performing and also attending college placements, I was in Delhi but didn’t get a job. So when one of my college friends suggested me to shift to Mumbai, I decided to make a move and tab acting ka passion aaya”.
Jitendra Kumar love for Delhi Food?
During his recent visit to Delhi, he couldn’t help but indulge in his cuisine cravings, including chhole kulche. “Delhi toh hamesha achha rehta hi hai; mujhe kaafi pasand hai. “Haan, aur yahan ka khana toh best hai hi,” adds the Panchayat actor, speaking about his strong desire to devour batsman Virat Kohli’s favorite chhole bhature. “Haina Rajouri Garden mein Rama Chole Bhature. Woh (try karna) reh gaya iss baar, but I’ll definitely have it the next time, he exclaims, adding, “Iss baar toh Delhi ki garmi bhi experience kar li. Normally, we only read about it in the news, but being here and seeing it was a completely different experience. I’m not used to this”.
