Without the joy of knowing when the next season of Bridgerton will come. What can one do?
As the season 4 of Bridgerton has wrapped up just few days back, it might not be wrong to predict that the next season 4 will drop on Netflix not until 2026.
But if you are someone who binge-watched the Bridgerton series and love to revisit its earlier seasons it must be hard for you to wait for the next season.
The make your wait less tiring we have brought a list of regency era love stories to fill the “Bridgerton”-sized void.
List of Movies like Bridgerton
“Pride & Prejudice”
There have been several adaptations of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice,” but director Joe Wright’s 2005 film, starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen, is widely regarded as one of, if not the greatest.
Austen’s 1813 tale of love sickness is still widely read today, and it was undoubtedly an inspiration for both the “Bridgerton” books and the program, as it follows a family of five girls as they navigate concerns of marriage, love, and what destiny holds for each.
“Little Women”
Greta Gerwig’s new, female-driven “Little Women” is an excellent complement to Shondaland’s “Bridgerton.” The 2019 rendition tells the famous theme of four sisters’ friendship while also highlighting the complexities of female identity in the late 1800s.
Jo’s contrarian, feminist ideas, and love of writing are similar to those of Penelope Featherington and Eloise Bridgerton. While Meg’s debutante ball may not have been as lavish as Queen Charlotte’s, this film will satisfy your Bridgerton cravings.
“Emma” 1996
Emma Woodhouse, like Penelope Featherington, has a flair for intervening in the lives of wealthy community members, although she uses a less controversial manner than Lady Whistledown.
While Emma’s intentions are pure — undoubtedly more so than some of Penelope’s most angry pieces – she finds herself in a similar predicament as Penelope in Season 3 of “Bridgerton” when she becomes entangled in two separate plans that may jeopardize her own shot at happiness.
“Emma” (2020)
Just before the pandemic another movie of “Emma” was released in February 2020. Autumn de Wilde’s film is visually stunning, vibrant, and trendy. In this rendition, Anya Taylor-Joy plays Emma with a charmingly aloof demeanor.
Johnny Flynn is charming as George, and Mia Goth manages to remove the darkness that pervades so many of her parts for her gentle take on Harriet.
